For example, many abuse victims hardly ever report their assault until it's too late to gather any tangible evidence. Why would they do this? What's stopping them from reporting the incident? Most of the time, it's because they're afraid that they'll get caught. They're brainwashed into believing that the perpetrator is "all-knowing". With the fear of being punished, they keep quiet and allow these crimes to continue.
